This Agreement sets out the terms of your use of this Website and your membership in the Poets Inkwell. Sometimes we may need to modify this statement. This Agreement includes The Poets Inkwell’s Acceptable Use Policy for content published by you on the Website. By using this Website you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use.

You acknowledge that you are an adult user of the Service or that you are the parent or guardian for any minor whom you allow to access this Website, for whom you will be held responsible. Your use of all aspects of this service indicates that you are bound by this agreement with us. This Agreement will remain in effect while you use the services of this website and/or are a Member. You may terminate your membership at any time, for any reason. We reserve the right to terminate this agreement at any time.

When you register with us we will ask you to create a user name and password. Please protect your username and password information, you are responsible for anything that occurs in their use. Notify us immediately if you suspect or know of any unauthorized use.

The Communication Process

The Poets Inkwell contains areas that enable communication between members of the community such as poetry reviews, biographical information, profiles, and poetry. We expect our members to communicate responsibly; civility and friendliness are simply good manners. We expect and require that our members take full responsibility for the content that they post or send through the Website. We also wish to remind you that you should choose carefully which information you post on the Website and that you provide to other members. Do not share any information that could endanger you. We are a family oriented website, we take all members safety seriously, but we are especially protective of our junior members. Please be advised that abusive behavior will not be tolerated, and we will immediately terminate anyone who abuses verbally or in any other way other poets and users of this site.

Community Guidelines

Please contribute responsibly when reviewing other Members’ poetry. Remember poets on this site are amateur poets, be they junior members or adult, not professionals. They share a common love of poetry, are trying to hone their skills, and wish to receive honest feedback on how to improve their poetic efforts.

Please treat others in the community with respect.

Please tell us if you come across content that you find offensive, possibly unlawful, or that you believe otherwise violates these Community Guidelines. We will investigate all submissions to us, promptly, and reserve the right to act in any way we deem necessary to resolve an issue.

Acceptable Use

All posted works must be original. You may not post, distribute, or reproduce any copyrighted material, trademarks, or other proprietary information without obtaining the prior written consent of the owner of such proprietary rights.

You may not upload, post, e-mail, transmit or otherwise make available any content that is unlawful, libelous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, indecent, lewd, harassing, threatening, harmful, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, abusive, inflammatory or otherwise objectionable.

You may not provide any content that encourages a criminal offence or violates the rights of any party.

You may not impersonate anyone else or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity.

You may not participate in any unauthorized or unsolicited promotions, advertising, "junk mail", "spam", "chain letters", "pyramid schemes" or any other form of solicitation, or otherwise use the website for a commercial purpose.

You may not violate any applicable national and international law or regulation.

You may not harass other Members of this Website in any form or fashion.

We will act upon violations of these guidelines immediately, violations of harassment and abuse policies will be dealt with in any way we deem appropriate to resolve the issue, including immediate termination of membership, all fees paid will be forfeited when a member is terminated for violations of these policies.

Cancellations

Cancellations go into effect immediately; they do not occur at the end of your membership term. If you become a member of the poets inkwell and decide you will not be happy here, then a refund of your subscription rate fee will be made to you, minus administrative processing fees. This applies only if you cancel within the first 24 hours of your membership, and does not apply if you are removed for abusive or threatening behaviour.

So a word of advice, if you are confrontational and/or abusive, or threatening, or have a history of being any of these things, you might consider not joining. We have a peaceful community and strictly enforce our abuse and threat policy.

Subscription

Subscription membership in the Service is on a continuous service basis. This means that once you have become a subscribing member, your subscription will be automatically renewed and your credit card will be charged based on the subscription program (annual, quarterly, monthly, etc.) you have chosen. All subscriptions are quoted and charged in pounds stirling (£/GBP). You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellations go into effect immediately; they do not occur at the end of your membership term.

All transactions are final and non-refundable, except as applies to goods bought from the online shop.

Copyrights

By submitting poetry, reviews of poetry, biographical information, and other content, contributors are certifying that these works are of their own original creation and do not violate any copyrights. By submitting material to The Poets Inkwell, you agree that we may display, modify (for appearance, not for content), transmit, distribute or delete your posting. We may remove content at any time at our sole discretion. Individuals who submit their poetry, reviews and other content or photos to us retain their copyrights, but grant to us the right to reproduce and distribute the submitted material on this Website, or in printed form.

Online Shop

Any items purchased from the online shop are supplied in good faith and can be returned within 14 days of receipt in the event that they are faulty, in return for a credit of the full purchase price less postage costs to your account. Items purchased from the online shop will be delivered by Royal Mail, and all items are priced in pounds stirling (£/GBP).

In the Event of your Death

In the event of your death, your poetry and profile will remain on the site as an everlasting tribute. Should you wish, you can opt out of this option by changing your preferences in your account.
